He made his debut theatrical film appearance as Rahul Mehta in Tere Mere Sapne in 1996.

According to sources, his father was an ex-MLA from Aligarh and his mother was the daughter of the Maharaja of Balongir in Orissa.

Chandrachur had a strong start in the film industry, however, all of that fell to pieces when he dislocated his shoulder joint multiple times while water skiing in Goa. Following the accident, he found it difficult to maintain his physical appearance and gained weight. Hence, he began to lose roles.

He is very fond of listening to music.

Chandrachur is considered to be an underrated actor.
